On September 15, 2026, a delegation led by Academician Vaqif Abbasov, Director General of the Y.H. Mammadaliyev Institute of Petrochemical Processes, visited SABAH.city innovation city.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on SABAH.city’s infrastructure, key areas of activity, and development prospects. Nihat Majidov, Chief Executive Officer of the High Technologies Park, delivered a detailed presentation on the city’s capabilities and the innovation and research ecosystem being developed at SABAH.city.

The delegation also visited the teaching and research laboratories established by Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. The laboratories are designed to support research and applied projects in artificial intelligence, robotics, computer science, cybersecurity, biotechnology, nanobiology, nanophysics, chemistry, telecommunications, and other priority scientific and technological fields.

The meeting also focused on opportunities to further develop cooperation among the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, the High Technologies Park, and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, including potential areas for trilateral collaboration. The meeting was attended by Academician Vaqif Abbasov, Nihat Majidov, and Ali Alizade, representing Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.

At the conclusion of the visit, Academician Vaqif Abbasov met with students of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, shared his academic and professional experience, offered guidance, and wished the students success in the new academic year.
